What a Week!

It's been such a busy week, working on some poster designs for the local Roller Derby team, painting mother day presents, working on game puzzles and visiting Centre Parcs. Also need to finish the two requests I received I haven't forgot you guys sorry I haven't got to finishing them yet. I'm off to London this weekend for Enchanted aLolita fashion event, which shiro-nuri artist Minori is attending (I am beyond excited)  I shall take my art pad for some sketching in the evening.

While working on the roller derby poster, its slowly changing in a mlp:fim team haha, heres a sneak peak.

My Little Membership

ummed and arred over renewing my membership as had a bit of a lack luster time last year of getting much art work up. Then I held off  renewing in hopes they would do the christmas present deal again, (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻ which they didn't, so I could renew my friends as well as my own.

As I've been working on more portfolio building over the last month and breaking out the water colours , I thought what the heck, its not like money is bleeding out, I don't smoke and I don't drink alcohol and cutting back on junk food so why not treat myself to this.

Now not to waste it ((유∀유|||)) and get art active.

Roll out 2014

It has been a busy 2013, In late september I went to Derby and attended in the artist ally, on top of preparing a demo of game I'm working on. We managed to get it completed between the 3 main in house team and our wonderful freelance b.g artist. We took it AdventureX in London and although at first it was a bit of a nerve racking experience, the demo went down really well. We came away with some great feedback and realised the project as a whole is just too big and have split the game into three parts. 

hmmm what else happened, well... I kicked my other job as a team coach, it was becoming to disheartening to put politely and was affecting my health. I wont go into the work place politics, lets just say it wasn't a great to be, so I thought enough is enough and now I'm fully registered self employed Freelance Artist/Illustrator. 

Sorting that out with HM Revenue & Customs was a lot of fun, but at least at the period I set it up it at least made the annual tax return easy, wooo!

Art and Conventions

Back from J-con, and from my first artist table which I shared with :icongrimmloki: although I had an amazing time and was really great to talk with fellow artists and con goers. I cannot express how tiring the last couple of weeks have been leading up the the conventions and actually selling on the day has been a real eye opener to what does in fact sell. I might not have sold as much as I would of liked but I still had a fantastic time and with much better preparation I want to go back next year and do it again, and really set up my table properly making more interesting and eye catching and ha ha, I guess bring more fan art. At the moment I'm down visiting my family as its my birthday on Friday we went to the harry potter tour yesterday it was amazing. I brought my memory sticks with me to load photoshop on my dads PC and give him a crash course on it so he can edit his photos and flyers more creatively. I should have my recent art work on there so I will try and get that up as well. One thing this convention prep has helped with is let me see I do love drawing, I'm not as bad as I feel and people do like my art .

It has always been pressed upon me by certain individuals that drawing in a manga style will get me no where, and I understand where they are coming from, it can be seen as niche style and not completely taken seriously in my country, Never the less  drawing cute things makes me happy, makes me push down the rotten feelings inside, but I do agree it good to have a mix of both .

So Welcome to what started as my 'cute' account, I have been so busy working on company projects and day to day stuff that I have completely neglected  this account, but no longer!

For christmas I brought a Deviant art subscription for a friend as she's trying really hard with her art and enjoys showing casing it on this site, It was a nice surprise to see that Deviant art where offering you also would get a subscription as well, so I dont want it go to waist.

So much has happened over the last year with mundane part time work, to exciting animation and film projects, which has lead on to other thing, which I cannot wait to share.
